Paint, soap, oil - galaxies, emotions and beauty.

I'm feeling a little emotional this morning. Freelance has been wonderful so far but the prospect of leaving a placement I've loved is always hard. Maybe that's why I found these beautiful paint, oil and soap films actually quite meaningful and emotional.

Watching the colour forms rip apart and form beautiful new patterns is like an analogy for life. So one beautiful whole ends and will be replaced by new beauty, new forms. Freelance too is full of uncertainty, ever changing and full of new beautiful experiences.

Courage Indeed.

Oh it's been so long since I last blogged that I almost forgot how to embed a video.
Time flies when you're in LA, doing up your house, tackling problems with cats pissing on your bean bags and putting ikea furniture together.

Anyway I wanted to take time to post this little film about courage made by Graphic Designer, Photographer & Filmmaker Miriam Abrahams. It really is a brilliant take on the word courage. I don't think I could have done it.  Watch with sound - the two little kids are so cute.

All the comments below this video are asking to see how she fixed what the kids did to her. I was so desperate to see how she had it fixed that I trawled her website. Please post an afterwards picture Miriam!

Bad ass honey badger - OMG!

The team in LA are obsessed by this video. Check out this bad ass honey badger. OMG he's eating a snake! ewwww! The honey badger just don't give a fuck.

The cutest video I've ever seen!

Spurred by the fact that there are only 200 three clawed sloths left in the world (very sadly this is probably due to the fact that they are too lazy to get down and dirty) my friend sent me this very cute video from the sloth orphanage. It's the cutest video ever!

And on wikepedia it says they are actually competent swimmers! By the looks of it they are competent - but so slow they don't go anywhere...esp if there's a current. Take a look:

Rudest dance craze ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lolaq7uQU1E

Apparently this video isn't just some porno dancing, it's actually a real dance craze in Dance halls (in the Caribbean or Jamaica I have been told). Love how people push boundaries with dance in every generation. Maybe this will be how everyone is dancing in a few years? Don't laugh! It could happen! Just think about the outrage caused by flappers, women smoking, mini-dresses, Rock and roll and it's not such a stretch of the imagination. The song sounds shit at first but the video actually makes it really memorable. Hey I'm up for some grinding!

I've attached the link to the original above but I've embedded only the remix as the original was "disabled by request".

The Golden Age of Video

Here's something non-soppy, non-love-life related for those who like brilliant video mash-ups. Very clever mixing. Love it.

Flying Dogs

The real name of this video is Birds. It was produced by Pleix and Blink: http://www.pleix.net/films.html

I think it's both funny and artistically beautiful. Get the look on the face of the little brown dog as he goes up - complete bemusement. That dog has no brain!
