Oh shit wasn't I meant to be getting married next year?

I have done NO wedding planning since I got engaged in November. I am officially the world's laziest bride to be.
But I have seen a dress and a coat which I love. Here they are - I'm wondering whether I should get them both and have a winter wedding. I had been thinking summer but actually I can indulge my love affair with coats if I do winter and I also won't be upset if it pisses it down. It would be indoors anyway. Hmmmm...

What do you think of the outfit?

Sock Puppet Michael Jackson

I love puppets. I think this stems from my childhood as Mum and dad did my teddies talking every night before I went to sleep. I totally get into it still. Which is why I love this little puppet show of Michael Jackson's life. Don't watch it if you love love love Jackson and can't stand people taking the piss. Personally I love Jackson's music but taking the piss is perfectly acceptable in my eyes.

You're never too adult to build a den/fort

Today in work we were talking about dens, or as my US colleges call then "forts". Debs used to use a big wooden washing rack to hand sheets over, I used the slide in the garden as my framework.

We love you so - the blog dedicated to Spike Jonze's Where the Wild things are have just run a "fort" building competition:

Here are a few of the entries sent by grown adults who are still 8 years old at heart. Check out the innovative locations. It's also nice to imagine the people who built each fort - some mechanics, some hippies, some corner shop owners:

The magic of google - how it all works

The UK - when it's sunny, there's nowhere better

We have been enjoying some gorgeous weather here in the UK the last few weeks. This is lucky because this year I decided that we weren't going on holiday. Instead we were going to enjoy Britain and save our money. And this weekend I lay in Christchurch meadows in Oxford, watching the clouds float in the blue skies and the little ducklings cozy up to their mothers to shade from the sun and thought 'this is the most perfect place on earth to be'. And London looked just as gorgeous. Here's a picture of London Bridge my Fiance took on his walk home on Friday:

Living in the UK under mostly grey skies you forget that we are living in a beautiful country. But wherever I go in the world I compare the beaches to my local Welsh beaches in Gower. And I often find that beaches that are famed for their beauty are nothing in comparison to the under-rated beauty of the Welsh coastline. I am truly lucky to have grown up in Swansea, truly lucky to have spend my student days in the beautiful and ancient buildings and gardens of Oxford, and truly lucky to live right by the South bank in London. I just needed a sunny summer to remind me.

Follow Friday a day early due to hen party reasons

I am going to my University town for a hen do tomorrow (can't wait!!!), but I thought that I'd like to do a follow friday to share a couple of blogs I have recently found and loved. Obviously it's thursday. I get that. But rules are there to be broken right?

This blog is funny and by someone completely wacky with a monster fantasy imagination. This is the kind of blog my dad wishes I wrote (Hi dad if you're reading...unlikely as his computer would take a year to load the first page). Find out how to write a zombie movie and even get your tarot cards read. She's that bored.

For those who haven't come across the phenomenon of sleep talking man this blog is written by his other half who wakes up to note down his mutterings. He has one strange dream life! Here's an extract:
"Stop running, puppies. I don't want a puppy tornado! Whizzing 'round, with all these legs flapping. Mess."

A blog from a highly self-congratulatory client. This blog is so over-the-top and rude it's hilarious. I wonder who writes it and if he actually is the client, or if he is an ad man pretending to be the client. Either way really funny stuff. Here's a rant straight from the client's mouth:

Please let me know if you have found any super brilliant and unique blogs that you recommend. Until next week, over and out!

Hooray! I have reached 30 followers! I am soooo happy! So thank you to everyone who has followed me, and thank you to anyone who ever stops by occasionally too. Comments are so wonderful to get. Hey I don't even mind if you disagree with me!

Big thank you to Christina Brown who I think was my 30th follower. I have taken a look at her blog too and it's really funny and entertaining.

To celebrate I will be having another glass of red - yum! My teeth are turning black.

Lets play dressing up

H&M have added a brilliant toy to their website - a Fashion studio where you can dress up models in clothes from the H&M range. Not only is this really fun it is also brilliantly promotional. I have already created a number of outfits that I want to own. My fashion sense has probably a lot to be desired. An ex boyfriend once told me that he only liked one piece of clothing in my entire wardrobe. That was an elasticated brown gypsy top. Doesn't say much for the rest of my dress sense does it? Another friend told me that I had a lot of nice clothes, I just didn't necessarily put them together very well.

Anyway here's two I created:

And here's one that was so good I couldn't bring myself to alter:

LA made me too fat for my pants

Hi all, I'm home!

LA was really fun. Unfortunately I can't really talk about most of the experience. What I can discuss is the amount of shopping and food eating I did.

The great thing about expenses is that while you aren't paying for food, your own money is freed up for buying clothes. When I go to the US the fever takes over and I often come home with a whole new wardrobe. This time I bought:

From Target: summery skirt, little black dress, two pairs of pyjamas, navy beach dress with anchors on.
From Anthropology: 2 T-shirts, 2 tops.
From Banana Republic: Little navy vest top
From Urban Outfitters: Blue cardi, black vest top.

I do have an excuse for buying all these new clothes - mainly that I ate so much food that I couldn't fit into any of my old clothes! So now I have some clothes to tie me over until I lose the LA weight. And I was on the chubby side of my usual range before I even left. People always tell me I'm imagining it when I say I've put on weight but the proof is in the buttons. If they are straining to hold you in then Adgirl, you're fat.
